Syrphus Torvus or Toxomerus Marginatus?
Common Name: Hoverfly
I found this little fellow while photographing some ants. I'm not sure of either the genus or species, so any help in that area would be appreciated.
The fly was quite content to let me photograph him (or her), I was able to get off quite a few shots. I used flash to fill in the shot, I wasn't too concerned about losing detail in the white petals.
The insect was no more than half the width of my thumb nail, if that.
