Obviously it is a big mistake to stay at home in bad weather conditions.
The snowflakes give a big plus to this capture. Not only a great flight shot but also great ambiance.
Again a perfect exposure on the white feathers, which is great.

What a superb result Harry, well worth the effort. I'm you look back in 20 years and have a real story to tell.
The eagle is pin sharp amongst the snow, which seems to blowing near horizontal. Dispite your hardship and the difficult conditions, its the snow that really make this image special.
An excellent study, there is nothing to fault it in my opinion, well done.

Absolutly amazing Harry, another stunning image, I bet you are so pleased you had that pep talk to yourself.
For the conditions and the slower shutter speed you had of 1/125 this is amazing. The detail exquisit, makes me feel like I'm there looking up myself. Your panning was spot on, pin sharp where needed.

Your are right ..you should be happy with this out come. fabulous shot.even with AF the focus is spot on head and body part. Snow flakes and wind ahs given it fantastic background. In all high quality shot.

Excellent shot!!! I thought you would have got it on manual focus as AF would be too difficult with the snow .. but you got it on AF!! congrats!

Lovely tight focus on the eye, snow makes it very interesting - almost unreal! Excellent DOF, lighting and cropping.

Hello Harry,
Though it seems strange to see wintery shots when the summer sun is blazing I must give you credit for an excellent in-flight capture of A Bald Eagle flying in a blizzard. The snow flakes do not seem to have prevented excellent sharpness in this superb capture.

Superb image, I think the frozen fingers were worth it :-) I've seen your work on PhotoSIG and I'm very impressed. This is excellent, the shutter speed is just right to add the streaks of snow which gives a real sense of movement. Great panning too. I think the post-processing on this is better than the PhotoSIG version, you've really brought out the detail in this one.

Interesting note to Annick also, I'm been planning a trip to Alaska for a while and while I'd identified Homer as a place to go to, it's useful to me to know the best times to go. I'm hoping to go to Haines in November.

Dear Harry, I think one of the highest levels in nature field photography is flying birds. Under snow even a harder job. I wish I can visit Alaska someday. I have already seen bald eagles in wild while in a trip to northern USA, they aren't less than fantastic. Very well done.
