| Freshwater glacial ice rides out to sea in Alaska's Tracy Arm fjord. Glacial ice is very dense from the massive pressures it's subjected to. Pieces like this are hundreds of years old. They are compact crystalline structures which even look like mineral specimens. They are so dense that only the light from the blue spectrum is relected. The color of this photo is accurate. |

I have one question for you David. Could that ice be any bluer?! That is just a fantastic subject i must say. It looks more like glass or crystal. Who knew ice could be so majestic. I also like how you worked the waterfall into the background. I must say David that this is a very beautiful subject and thanks so much for sharing it.
