[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This posting is of Grizzly At Fish Creek near Hyder Alaska. This place is amazing to me, because of my love of bears. You can safely watch Grizzlies, Black Bears and rarely wolves come to feed on the salmon run.
There is always three Park Rangers on hand to watch that bear / human interactions are peaceful. I have now been there the last two years and it's well worth the 20.5 hour drive each way in my opinion. This bear is easily recognized as a Grizzly from its' round face and huge shoulder hump. This hump is muscle they use to dig for food, whether it's digging up ground squirrels, marmots, clams or riping apart an old log for ants and grubs the power they have is amazing. Yet I have seen a sow Grizzly gently hold up a cub as it learns how to swim.

I am glad you love them:-) I am not sure if they share the same for us, but heck...and truly grizzly attacks which happen are so well recorded that it leaves one thinking all will attack...and in some cases...but then those are exceptions...A fine glimpse inside of the beasts head through eye contact...My contact directly was with black bears....which are a bit kind to us humans...which is a good thing because I was alone once and in the middle of absolutely nowhere..although I had a 22 with me..HA! big joke to the bears......As I remember the time, it was the last time I carried the 22...so did I go out without? No...I went to my friend the sheriff who owned a local 1 man store...and bought a Winchester 30 caliber...until this day not a shot has ever been fired against an animal...and I thank God for that..

now he looks full of attitude! Whata great specimen, and defnately worth that huge drive, it must be quite an experience to see these in the flesh. Nice POV and detail, love the setting too.

Hello Rick

That's a grizzly all right.
Amazing POV,you really managed to get a great view from close in.
The shot is well composed and rich in colour and beautiful natural surroundings.
Super eye contact,one gets the feeling it might want to spit out the grass and chow down on something heated to 37C.
