[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Smoke is often described as a cloud, but in detail is much more like a ribbon, creating ephemeral swirls and patterns in the air.

I want to emphasize that this is NOT a photoshopped image. In fact the only thing I did was slightly increase the contrast to bring out the ribbon of smoke.

I don't normally do this kind of abstract stuff, but I've got to say I really like this one.

A couple people have pointed out that this may be more suited to Trek Lens, but frankly, I like Trek Nature better and is there really anything unnatural about smoke?

Cheers,
Vishal Sabharwal

This is a lovely shot. Very nice effect.. BUt like Vishal mentioned, this is a TL shot. :)

Hi David,

I don't know whether this pict belong to Trek nature or not, but I must say Treknature is a forum for serious nature photography to my understanding.
Although this is a nice pict but it should not belong to this category..
Correct me if I'm wrong...

Regards,
Musin

I am not shure. I think you are righ. There is nothing unnatural in smoke. Smoke and fire is a part of nature and some times thise kind of photos could be posted on treknature.

I love it. Great composition and rely interesting idea.

Maybe longer note about fire as part of nature and important factor in development of many organisms (for excample plants) will convice more people to thise photo.

Very good job
Thanks

Krzysztof

Hello David,
This is an excellent shot, very beautiful, but to me it looks rather like the smoke from a cigarette and I don't know if it belongs here. If water droplets don't belong according to rules then I'm doubtful.

Hi Dave,
Lovely shot and very nicely framed. Artistic and evocative.

Hi David
This is a very creative and abstract shot of smoke. The colours and shapes are decorative and beautiful and I agree with you that it does have a valid place in TN. Well done!
