[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
As I wrote inthe notes of my previous posts from Arizona, the Sonoran Desert is not quite what people usualy undrestand by "desert". This is a place with rather dense vegetation, inhabited by highly specialized species, that know to take advantages from the summer monsoon season and then endure the hot clima the rest of the year.
This is a random shot I took toward a small hill and here is a list of species that came up in this frame:

- Echinocereus englemannii - the magenta flowered cactus in the right foreground
- Encelia farinosa - the bush from the left foreground. Now past the flowering time, it has yellow daisy-like flowers.
- Larrea tridentata (Cresote bush) - the yellow small flowered shrub from the left, second plan.
- Cercidium sp. (paloverde tree) from Leguminosae family, the trees from the background
- Carnegiea gigantea (Saguaro) the towering cactus on the left side of the background.

There are also a small individual of Opuntia achantocarpa in the middle but is not easy distinguible and also some small Krameria sp. - small bushes around.

Artfully done Petru!
This picture shows quite a variety of plant life.
When I was in the Sonora Desert I stayed with some friends in Miracle Valley who had a milk goat. They fed the goat mesquite beans and a little alfalfa hay to make the milk palatable.

Velvia colours Petru - saturated and beautifull. Good POV and composition with many desert plants. I like your note - very interesting reading.

Excellent capture of this variety of plant community. Very good composition (FG RoT bottom right versus BG RoT top left, diagonal between those points, two crisscrossing parallel diagonals along FG and BG )and the colours really rock.

I don't want to walk there without shoes!
But I like to look at this wonderful colours against this deep-blue sky - beautiful.
I'd like to see this pretty pink flowers nearer, they must be wonderful.

Great view on this flowering desert. Being in the USA I didn't get to the West, what a pitty...
Anyway, very good quality of the scan. Nice multi-object composition. Really shows a nature of this place.
