CJ's Desert Dwellers: Lesser Goldfinch Carduelis psaltria
Family:Fringillidae
Genus: Carduelis
Length:12.5 cm (4.5 in)
Wingspan: 20 cm (8 in)
Weight: 9.5 g (.33 oz)
Voice:Slow hoarse disjointed song with many imitations of other species. It's call is a distinctive high, clear tleeee, teeeeEE, or tseeew. The flight call is a chig chig chig.
It is our smallest finch, with the 'western' variant having a more green back, the 'Texas' variant more black-backed. Appearance is heavily sexually dimorphic (male and female look different), with the female a pale green back with weak-colored wingbars. The male is brighter with white spots on the tail and wings, with a dark black cap. |

Great quality with very good colours, the POV is a beat low to my taste.
