my next Goldfinchs the American Goldfinch will be in the
end of december or in january with their winter plumage,
excellent photo of your Lesser Goldfinch with fine frontal POV,
i love the way he is framed by the branches and leafs,
excellent sharpness and details, and that catch-light
that always render the photo more beautiful, TFS

Hi Jane. I bet you were glad to see and hear this little one. The Lesser Goldfinch is a beautiful looking bird with its bright yellow feathers and black cap. Taken from a fine POV lokking up at the bird. Well done TFS.

Hello Jane,

This is so different from the colouring of the Goldfinches in England!
I love yoor pov, capturing the vivid plummage of its breast and getting a good catchlight in its eye.
The perch makes a fine diagonal composition.

I have so noted it in my picture today Jane. I think nature both flora, trees and animals as well as birds know or have an instinct....and here we have a fine colourful example from Arizona...and what wonderful colours they are...They stick right on out..and the title makes me feel as though you knew I was coming back as well:-0

Hello Jane,
This newly arrived male lesser Goldfinch is so well framed by the branches of your oak tree, his fine yellow breast and black cap contrasting well against the blue sky.
He may herald the arrival of cooler times for you but here in the north for many of us the advent of the autumn is the beginning of darkness and cold...
Yet this shot has the brightness of summer!

It's funny that you are looking forward to the next couple of months, while here in the east we dread to think of what it might bring our way weather wise. I suppose it's just a trade off for all the super hot temperatures that you guys have had to endure all summer long.
