Here is a picture of the Hooded Pitta, a little bird that I found int the Phoenix Zoo aviary.

Hi Everton,

I would never guess this was a zoo photo. I've never seen a Hooded Pitta before. A beautiful shot of a pretty bird. Colors are wonderful and the black is perfect. Superb details of the face and plummage. He's even posing nicely for you.

Hi Everton

A lovely introduction to me of this beautiful unknown bird and for that, thanks. A wonderful example of how a zoo photo could or should be captured showing no zoo paraphernalia at all.

Good detail on the bird and nice colour saturation. The exposure levels were also well controlled ensuring good contrast in the bright and in the darkish areas. The range of the DOF was sufficient to cover the depth of the bird, but narrow enough to ensure that the BG was well OOF. Although that area is rather bright it is not disturbing at all and it really serves in complimenting the bird.

Well done and TFS.
Regards
Loot

Hello Everton,
Nice shot of this very beautiful and unusual looking bird. I have to ask though, is it's tail turned behind it, or does it not have a tail?
