Today something very unusual is happening, It's raining!
It's unusual because it's too early for the Monsoon here
in Arizona usually we have some rain in July, this picture is what looks like around Phoenix and Tucson (Hello Jane!). This is the Sonoran Desert the greenest desert you will ever seem.

The Sonoran Desert includes 60 mammal species, 350 bird species, 20 amphibian species, 100+ reptile species, 30 native fish species, and more than 2000 native plant species. Despite the common stereotype that it does not rain in deserts, the Sonoran Desert is considered the wettest desert in the world, receiving 3 to 15 inches per year

The Sonoran Desert (sometimes called the Gila Desert after the Gila River or the Low Desert in opposition to the higher Mojave Desert) is a North American desert which straddles part of the United States-Mexico border and covers large parts of the U.S. states of Arizona and California and the Mexican states of Sonora and Baja California. It is one of the largest and hottest deserts in North America, with an area of 311,000 km˛ (120,000 mi˛ ). The desert contains a variety of unique plants and animals, such as the saguaro cactus. On January 17, 2001, 2,008 km˛ (496,337 acres) of the Sonoran Desert was set aside as the Sonoran Desert National Monument for the purpose of enhancing resource protection.[1]

Hola amigo,
interesante pov. y dof,
original panorama de estos cactus,
buen trabajo,
saludos Everton

Hello Everton,

Very beautiful picture of this landscape. Excellent composition, POV, DOF and sharpness. So beautiful desert with so much life with all these animal and plant species.
Beautiful natural colours. You can upload files with 300Kb now, yours is only 168Kb; it can help a lot for the sharpness of this kind of picture.
Cheers,
Mariki

Splendido paesaggio, ottimi POV e DOF, bellissima composizione con il primo piano dei cactus e la pospettiva verso questo "rigoglioso" deserto, buona nitidezza, bellissimi i colori. Grazie e complimenti. Ciao Maurizio

Everton,
Thanks for posting a scene of the Sonoran Desert. I love to walk in areas like this whenever I come out to Phoenix to visit my daughter and son-in -law.
I love the plants and flowers of your area because they are totally different from what I'm used to seeing here in Ohio.
Very good depiction of your type of landscape!
Ron

This is sooooo absolutely typical Sonora desert. You can tell it is early in the year because everything hasn't turned brown yet. LOL!!!

This is cool. Your picture shows a barrel cactus, a young saguaro, a dead saguaro spine, ocotillo, mesquite, some early brittlebush, palo verde, prickly pear and, of course, adult saguaros among other things. I wish I knew all the plants there are in just this picture.

I'm most fascinated by the fact the Sonora is one of the hottest deserts in the world yet it still has about the greatest variety of flora and fauna of any desert.

It is a unique place.

Hello Everton!!

Not only is it rainy - it is COLD. 102 on Tuesday and right now it's 57. A good scene of our green desert and blue sky. Good details on the cacti and plants and wonderful shades of green with the yellow. Let's remember these cool days next month!

Hello Everton,
A fine Sonoran desert landscape capture showing such a variety of desert plants and cactuses that it doesn't look like a desert at all!
Great perspective and composition.
TFS this fine and interesting image,
Ivan
