Sleepy Sea Lion Pups
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| I've made it to San Francisco and down to the Fisherman's Wharf district in San Francisco a few times over the past several years. For anyone that's been down there before, you know that there are plenty of sea lions to photograph and be amused by. I was never satisfied with any of the sea lion shots that I got before this one. Perhaps I was trying to include too many sea lions in one shot, or I was trying to isolate a single sea lion with an attractive backdrop, which is not an easy task because the sea lions are practically piled on top of each other on unsightly floating docks. On this day I noticed a bunch of young sea lions all piled up sleeping. I decided to isolate just a few of them to capture their slumber. My first feeling I get when I view this photo is, "Aw, sea lion pups are cute!" My second feeling is, "Aw, I want to ditch work and go back to bed!" :) |
