This is a lovely capture of this grizzly.
The POV is amazing.Very close indeed.
The natural setting is super.

Rick,
That really sucks... Did your hard drive die on on you? There are ways of getting stuff off broken hard drives... I guess the only question is how much do you want to spend to recover the lost data. Don't know what else to say. A lesson for all ?
That reminds me... I have to back up my files too.
Best Regards,
Martin
Hi Rick,
That’s a hard lesson and I guess we've all been there I know I certainly have, nice capture of this Grizzly, just out of curiosity was there anything between this guy and the lens, like a river or something! Seems a little close for comfort,
Cheers Rick :)

Salut Rick,
Sorry about your lost images. I have never lost images, that kind of thing must be very frustrating, specially if some are Grizzlies. There 2 type of hard drive. The first is the one that fail and the segond is the one that will fail.
You save this one that is very nice.

Roger

No need for a kick Rick....you're only human. I do feel for you as I know how much the images must have meant to you and Lucy, and also because it was your 25 wedding anniversary. At least you have lots of nice memories.
An awesome capture of this healthy looking Grizzly. Nice sharp detail and excellent colour. Well composed as he struts out of the thicket. I think he's smiling for the camera.

Hi Rick,
Did you feel it? I just gave you a good kick. This can happen to any of us and I'm so sorry it happened to you. I'm so glad you didn't lose this wonderful grizzly shot. He seems to be smiling at you. That must have been quite a thrill seeing this beauty looking out at you from the bushes and reeds. You'll have to take another trip for pictures and next time come to Tucson for the hummingbirds.

Hi Rick
Yes - my perennial nightmare - it happens to us all!! Great shot however - love the pose and the long snout. Great work.

Ok... turn around, here it comes! I suspect we all lose images from time to time. And one NEVER forgets exactly which ones they were. We have several Canon cameras and therefore lots of different images end up with the exact same number... I got really messed up at the beginning. Now I keep all images for each camera completely separate and back up everything. I'm wondering if this was shot out of Many Glacier. There were a pair of grizzes hanging out together there in June. They were fairly blond. We saw them several times. I like the pose you captured here.

Hello Rick,
What a bad luck! More than 25 years ago I lost all my slides of the 4 days Inca Trail from Peru. Gone at the slides developping centre. Some things you never forget, specially when they are valuable for you.
But this is a great memory. Very beautiful photo from a perfect POV and a splendid pose. Excellent sharpness and colours.
Regards,
Peter
Hello Rick,
How dreadful to loose all those images! This is a lovely and well-timed capture though! I like your composition showing the Grizzly appear out of the bushes! ;-( I wonder how close you were?
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

I was just about to say....You know I have some of your shots in 800 size...some which are of nature I believe or scenic...if there is anything I can do...this image looks as thought he is lost as well...and Fossett is also now found but gone from us...perhaps by a mountain lion in the area near Mammoth. Nature and each day...we must live for these fine moments..

Hello Rick,
I am sorry for you. Such a bad luck! Even if it is not the best picture you could have posted, this one is great. Good composition of this grizzly in the high grass. Excellent POV and focus. Very nice natural colours.
Cheers,
Mariki
