[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I am posting these three moose in answer to a challenge by Rick (adanac). He challenged me to "see" his moose cow and 2 calves and "raise" if I could. I'll raise the bet with the next post to a bull moose. : )

This was taken in spring 2007 in the Many Glacier area of Glacier Park. We found the moose thriving, healthy and plump. Spring of 2008 found the moose in much worse condition. There was a massive infestation of ticks in the area and the moose were in a weakened state from tens of thousands of ticks. It was hard to witness. We documented them with photos for the rangers. If people are interested in seeing them I suppose I could post them, but they aren't pretty. The rangers were quite interested and concerned. I hope next spring we find the moose healthy again as they are in this picture. I have posted another shot of them as a workshop.

Hi Evelynn!

Funny and amazing challenge with a great result. I like the total natural environment very much. This si wildlife at its best. I didn't know that animals of that kind could suffer that much from ticks. Thank you for this interesting information.

Kind regards

Markus

Hi Evelynn,
I like yours better, beautiful scene well captured with the two calves exploring while mom feeds. The workshop image is nice especially the calves.
I await the raise, my friend.

Hello Evelynn,
Great capture of 3 in 1. In fact, apparently it gives you a feel as if the bigger third is superimposed on this frame. Amazing composition & TFS.
