As the Burr Trail enters Capitol Reef from the west, there is a view of these colorful bentonite clay hills from an overlook. The Burr Trail follows an old cattle trail and is one of the most popular backroads in Utah.
It extends from the mountain town of Boulder down through Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument into Capital Reef National Park. |

Hmm. I commented on this photo before, but somehow it seems to be lost. Now perhaps it will show up twice.
Anyway, beautiful shot of one of our favorite spots. The highlights and deep shadows give a real sense of depth to the picture.
