A beautiful golden Poppy! The colors and details are wonderful - it is jumping off the screen. As they said on our news last night - summer starts today for the rest of the country. It has been summer here for weeks and I'm ready for winter!

Dear Bob,
Clicked on vertical axis, it's a brilliant crome yellow poppy specimen with great sharpness & a small water drop on it's petal; making it more attractive further. Happy summer :)

This is a memory for me too Bob!
I was in San Francisco in '73 and visited Angel Island in the Bay: there were masses of these flowering among the dry grass that August.
The Californian Poppy has since become a favourite flower of mine too and this is an excellent image of it, the different tones of orange and yellow contrasting nicely with the OOF green BG.

I have trouble distinguishing California from Mexican poppies... both are common wildflowers in the southwestern deserts in early spring.
