I found this Indian Paintbrush at the base of Table Mountain in the Columbia River Gorge. My youngest daughter and I hiked the 4 miles to this gorgeous view of the mountain and just a bit farther up the trail Greenleaf Falls. I wanted to capture a view of the mountain behind this paintbrush, so kept the background blurry on purpose.

Hi Lori,
There are two points of interest in your picture frame. The flower and the mountain. The mountain being out of focus is disturbing the balance. In this situation, I would have either cropped off the mountain altogether, or tried to keep it in sharp focus. But well, that is my outlook.

And what a pretty picture you have here. The Indian Paintbrush is a new one for me and I do like the story you have told us about this beauty.
And the whole composition, with the flower in the front and the wonderful BG where we can see the Table Mountain through the trees - that looks awesome. What a beautiful day it looked too,
