Paul Burford....here is an angle which is not often taken. I seem to "see" the birds in flight a bit different than most, as all take on this Angel-like quality. My wife called this one. I looked around bit for ref's on Gabriel and find him not only in Christianity but replete with notes from Islam. How interesting is that???

Apparently in the pecking order of my feeder, the house Finch trumps out the smaller house sparrow. This house finch has just landed and in the blink of an eye, or the last kernel of seed, the sparrow flew off whilst the finch stayed it's welcome and longer. The finch is also small and from anything over 200 feet, the red is not quite as apparent. The closer one is to the finch, the more apparent it is. Makes perfect sense of course......when it isn't there at all does it even exists? Wow! Philosophical today just for Paul...OK Paul. I see your challenge and will also capture one face on...but me work is lagging and I may have to rely on archival tor the morrow...until then Shalom!

Excellent work Bob, goes to prove a point I have always believed in, if you are good with a camera, the subject matter does not matter, you will always be able to get a good image and a fine composition.

Well, here we are, near neighbours again!
You are right about this being an unusual angle! And, two birds! I didn't realise they were in conflict until I read your notes.

There is always a dominant in situations. I suppose without that, decisions would be harder to make!

Superb details and a very suitable low POV...Indeed the moment you have captured does show the wings in an angel like moment..Superb notes and its interesting to see the pecking order of who has the head of the table (or feeder)

I think you need a bigger feeder! Your finches seem more aggressive than the one's here. Wonderful shot - you froze the moment well.

Un exelente trabajo en esta foto. El nombre de San Gabriel le viene a la imagen. Los colores del plumaje lucen de maravilla por la calidad de la foto casi a contra luz. La nota escrita es muy buena tambien.

Your angel has everything except his halo, the way he's looking at his competitor I'd say he seems a little more devilish then angelic.

This is a very pretty picture with the bird in semi suspension cling to their nails to the wood trough to take a site that allows you to feed themselves. A snapshot precious well defined and very well done.

A nice capture of a little sparrow and fairly larger finch. Yes you need to expand your bird feeder to adopt more birds of various sizes. Good composition and well presented. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Wonderful shot of this duo at the feeder. Great documentary image and you have captured the moment very skillfully. Very neat and sharp image with nice colours and perfect lighting. The one moving it had fine motion blur on its wings. Excellent POV and composition. Kudos.
