I wish this shot was more in focus, but I'm allowing myself a little room for error since this was taken from a boat. (Yes, during yesterday's little adventure with the row boat...)
I found this bird amusing because it would run along the shore, eat a worm as it raced from one place to another. Once gone, it pecked the ground for another. I tried to steady the camera as the boat rocked back and forth in the gentle swell. Given the fact I was lucky not to have fallen out of the boat, I never thought to bring my tripod, and even if I had, that would've required balance, a bit of boating skill, and certainly more confidence! |

Hi kathy. You have captured a good close up taken from the boat.Good detail and natural colours in the feathers. Do you know what bird it is ? Well done TFS
Nick.
Have a good weekend
hey Kathy,
You gotta give yourself a break! This is a superb shot, I wonder what it would be if there were more focus, (I feel the birs will shrink!)But then there i go!I love this shot!
The bird looks so happy and content with its mouthful!
And the broken twigs and green grass serve as an amazing BG/FG.
Very well done, my friend!
Goldy
No where have I seen one like this before? :-) Very nice Kathy. I see one now as I turn my head to the back door window...Lots of these puppies out there yes?

My my my I missed quite a few of your shots in the past days and this one sure is a good one, even more if we consider the boat adventure... I like the observations you bring with your pictures and the pose of this bird is amusing and so determined.... to go where, who knows? Nice pov Kathy, great light and colours, sharp and natural. Thanks to you to have braved the waves and captured this picture!
Francine
Hello Kathy,
Very nice POV. Great clarity, color and detail, good DOF. Well exposed to capture so much detail in a dark bird. Eye is superb, wonderful catchlight.
