The Cycle of Nature

Moisture from the atmosphere condensed by cool bodies upon their surfaces, particularly at night forms this dew. If a dew point temperature below 32°F (0°C) is reached, the water vapor converts directly to frost. Hard frost is when temperatures fall below 28° Fahrenheit for a few hours. Most flora will very well be killed by a hard frost . So the difference is 4 degrees. While 32 or 0 may not kill, 28 F will most certainly kill and it is at this time when the plants and trees begin to show their true colours. This is because the green is caused by Chlorophyll which is is a green pigment found in most plants and trees.

Now it's autumn. The trees and plants need to take a break from all that photosynthesizing. When leaves change color, from green to yellow, bright orange or red, you'll know that winter is not far away.

In this image there was a frost, but my walk in the morning came as the frost melted, leaving the moisture which will evaporate...yet the damage has been done 2 weeks ago during the first hard frost...so now all natural colours are showing..

Dear Bob!

Many thanks for this superb autumnal picture. The perfect sharpness reveals many little pearls that underline the palnt's beauty in its coloured dress. The last dress, the last glowing before the end...

Kind regards

Markus

Hi Bob

This is truly fantastic, my friend! What a great find!
I love the spiral shape of this plant and the dew drops on it are such a nice treat - they really bring out the extra layers and create a superb pattern all over.
The details are also very neat and sharp while the DOF is very well managed, and brings out the higher, central part so well.
Overall, a top shot form you!

Bravo and TFS
Horia

Hard frost does a lot of damage here, too, Bob.In the hills, the poor farmers suffer the most.
A superb shot, with this one, you've outdone yourself, my friend!
Bravo!
Goldy

One of your best close plant images Bob!
The colours, POV, dewdrops, technical standard composition accompanied by a great note with a fine theme all contribute to a posting that is 100% in the spirit of TN.
Thanks and all the best,
Ivan

Once again the gorgeous autumnal colours are a feast for the eyes :)
Excellent DOF too.

Well done,

Hello Bob,

This is such a fine colour palette, with the delicate pastels of autumn!
We have some frozen dew outside too this morning, as the temp fell below 0C during the night...
This is an artistic and attractive presentation!

Greetings,
Pablo -

Hello Bob,
I'm very sorry to have overlooked your recent contributions! I find it quite hard to keep up with this site these days as I'm busy 'pottering' and painting! We only had one frosty morning so far and I hope the cold will not arrive too soon at your place! This is a beautiful plant covered with frost. I love the colours too and the fine composition.
Many thanks and best wishes, Ulla

Hi Bob,

The capture of the dew on the plant is an asset to the composition. The subject is well framed. The close-up view is showing the details and colors of the plant. The surrounding light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Pierre
