For this particular capture, I had the ISO on 400, but once more, due to lighting, I underexposed the photo to make up for the shutter speed and the ISO. I'm gradually learning!
I loved the angle of this swallowtail - and I was only able to get one like this - thank goodness it came out. I'm finding that I enjoy butterflies - and this is my second week attempting them. There's something so fragile, yet powerful about them.
I had hoped to capture one this morning, but it's too windy, plus, I guess I've lost a bit of weight because when I stood up from a crouched position waiting for one to land (after several minutes), my sweats didn't go back up with me. It's during those times when I'm glad the majority of my photos are taken far from the road - as it was in that instance. I am quite thankful that nobody else was around - especially with a camera.
I think I could qualify for my own bloopers show without any help - or acting... |

Hi Kathy,
What a nice photo with a good composition and wonderfull colortones. Image has also a very good quality with rasor sharp details of the main subject on a blurry backgraound.
