[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Dragonflies amaze me with their quickness and agility. Recently I discovered that some can fly upwards of 60 mph (and don't even get a speeding ticket in crosswalks!) and that their wings are independent of each other. (the sets)

I can't count the number of times I've had to duck because one came zooming my way so quickly that to avoid a collision, I had to be the first to react.

Still, there are many benefits to these insects - they love mosquitoes - as snacks. They eat a host of other insects too, but the mosquito seems to be their favorite, and for that single reason, the dragonfly has become one of my favorite insects!

Very nice image Kathy,
Love the POV and the sharp detail. Wonderful colors, especially in those delicate wings. The BG really helps to showcase this beautiful insect.
I've also begun to really appreciate dragonflies, they make great subjects to photograph and like you stated, they eat those nasty mosquitoes. Well done!!! TFS.

Dragonflies amazes me too Kathy. This is one one super head shot at this beauty. Stunning perch on that tiny flower. You have silenced the background pretty well here with good framing. TFS and best regards. Jusni

Hi Kathy,
Very nice shot! So clear, and such a great POV! I agree completely, they're such amazing creatures. I love the subtly matching colors in the bg of your photo. The only thing that you might have considered doing differently is to crop out that small piece of foliage in the bottom left corner. That's really minor though, and others might have different takes on it. TFS.
John
