Hi All,
I hope I'm right with the title, this being a Western Scrub Jay. We watched him hiding food under the pine needles. Having a ball in Oregon, prairie folks go to the ocean look out. Should I dare post a seascape with friends like Bob and Paul to scrutinize it, what do you think?

Ha! I will have to take your camera away if you ever come back this direction and don't post a good seascape....even a bad one will do fine for me:-) I miss my ocean as well as my wilderness.and If you post one I promise to post no more seascapes until you get home...unless it is one of ponds-cum! Great ID on the shot and if it's not then it is as close as I have seen. Glad you having a good trip..let us all know where you are so we can give you notions as to angle and resolution (just trying to stay in critique mode).. I like the one of the bird on the lonely rock which is on my web till tomorrow afternoon if anyone wants to see...on the notes page..brb..ok

Go for it Rick...it will be interesting to view the sea through a prairie dwellers eyes. Maybe Bob will see something new : )

This is an interesting looking bird....looks like he might be related to our Grey Jay except he's a nicer colour. Keep those photo's coming.

Hi Rick,

A beautiful bird with the most gorgeous blue color. What a combination with the shades of grey. You cannot go to the Oregon coast and not take pictures! I expect to see lots of seascapes from there. So the answer is YES.

Hello Rick,
It's been a while!
Great capture of a Western Scrub Jay showing all the features and colours with good clarity against the contrasting dead pine needles an stones on the ground.
If your fine animal and bird shots are anything to go by, a seascape from you shouls be something to look forward to!

Ivan

Hi Rick,
yes please! I would love to see a seascape from you and would be disappointed if you did share with us something you had taken. I'm sure it would be great, judging by your natural eye and skills with a camera. Anyway, great shot of this very nicely coloured Jay. Great framing and some excellent detail too, well done..
Paul

Hi Rick,

Even on the neutral tones of the ground, the blues of his feathers stand out in such a great way.
I like the pose, light and sharpness got.
