The river in Ketchikan, Alaska, is full with big salmons, going upstreams. There they lay their eggs and after that they die.

Monica,
It appears you have had some very interesting travels. It is kind of you to share your pictures.
This picture brought back some old memories. I worked a couple of seasons in Alaska. The first season I was at a camp on the Alaskan peninsula. On break day half the camp chose to go to the beach and the other half chose to go fishing. The ones that went fishing would load up in a helicopter that would fly to the King Salmon River. Once the helicopter was over the river the pilot would follow the river until it turned red with fish. Then after landing on the bank the ones who fished pulled something in with almost every cast. It was quite a place. Also, it was pretty awesome to watch the hugh brown bear catch and feed on salmon.
Thanks for sparking the old memory,
Dave
