The Basin - Winter
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This picture has been taken in the Franconia Notch State Park. The area is full of glacia features like potholes, waterfall and cascades. It is believed to have been eroded 15,000 years ago while the North American ice sheet was melting. The Basin has been smoothed by small stones and sand, whirled around by the Pemigewasset River.
The Basin can be accessed all year from the northbound and southbound directions of I-93. There are picnic tables and walking paths, as well as hiking trails.

A lovely place.
The water must have been moving really fast to capture such softness at only 2 seconds.
I think it's a bit bottom heavy, but that's just my opinion. I can see you wanted to show all the length.
Well done on the exposure and light.
Friendly regards,
Kelley
Great shot. Very Nice...
Nicely composed Patrick. Good comp with the bottom right rock and lower falls making for a nice anchor.

Hi Patrick,
Brilliant composition and excellent choice of shutter speed too. This shot has alot of depth and the exposure must have been tricky with that white snow and low light. Good work on the PP too.
Paul
I like the composition that you chose and the soft water effect is nicely executed. I do think that maybe with the snow in the scene that there is just a bit too much white. The water and the snow compete with each other. A faster shutter speed would have left the water darker. I tried a workshop to see if there was a way to put more attention on the stream.

Salut Pat,
