[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Vernal Falls (317 feet or 97 m high) is a large waterfall on the Merced River just downstream of Nevada Fall in Yosemite National Park, USA.

The waterfall runs all year long, although by the end of summer, it is substantially reduced in volume and can split into multiple strands, rather than a single curtain, of water.

From my archives... Scan.. no points please!

The original name of the fall was Yan-o-pah ("little cloud"). The fall was named "Vernal" by Lafayette Bunnell, a member of the Mariposa Brigade in 1851. Apparently, the fall reminded Bunnell of springtime.

Hi Sky.
I like this beautiful composition with waterfall so much.Amazing place and superb point of view with very good details.Well done.Thank you for sharing.
Best greetings Milos.

Hallo Sky,
Was habe ich ihn beneidet.....
Sehr schöne Landschaftsaufnahme. Qualitätsmäßig wäre das Foto heute geschossen um einiges besser. Auf jeden Fall eine sehr schöne Erinnerung. Danke.
Gruß
Heinz

Hello Sky,
Impressive gorge and a waterfall. The vertical format and strong shadows enhace the power of the waterfall.
Best greetings and TFS!

Hello Sky,
Vernal falls is beautiful at this angle. Sharply focused and well balanced picture. TFS this fine image from your archive.
JC

To be honest, I still like these good old pictures shot on film, Sky.
This is a very good scan that retains all the good qualities of this shot -- fine depth of view, gentle natural colors and lovely contrasts.
Vertical (portrait) orientation suits the image of this famous waterfall in the US.
Best regards,
Ram

Hello Sky
What a wonderful scene you captured here,
Great lighting and compo,
Superb shot.

This is a classic shot of Vernal Falls, Sky. There is some clipping of both the lights and the darks but that is generally the problem with shooting waterfalls.

Hi Sky,
What an idilic place! You can really sense the quietness of the forest and the distant rumble of falling water.I like the window you have captured through the trees.Actually it reminds me a bit of "Thomson Falls" near Nyahururu Kenya....a place I visited quite a few years back.TFS and have a great weekend.
Regards, David

Hallo Sky
This is just another beautiful landscape photo that popped up on my screen. This striking waterfall is a stunning scenery, and I am sure you enjoyed photographing it, as much as I have looking at it. The water falling far down to the bottom of the fall looks very strong and forceful. We have to drive quite far inland to see a waterfall. The last time we saw a waterfall it was when we celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary in the Midlands. Unfortunately there where no photographic oppertunities and we were quite disappointed as the Howick Falls is really stunning, but somebody has decided to do their washing nearby and the line of clothing would have been captured in the photo as well. Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards
Anna
