| It wouldn't have struck me that bats were very cute until I met one up close. He was flying around my garage and at one point even landed on my pants leg. He finally made it out of the garage and went about his bug-eating routine, I suspect. |

well, I have a weakness for bats. :)
I think you have a Big Brown Bat Eptesicus fuscus.
You'll have to check to see if that's right.
They eat an enormous amount of bugs and I'm glad you didn't hurt him.

This is a great photo because of the opportunity. We don't get many bat photos here. I think you used a flash which gave it that lighting, but since it was the garage that's understandable.
