[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Time to bid farewell to Bishop and its magic light and trees. This was taken from our campsite just east of town. These old cottonwoods have seen better days, and are survivors from a time when water was more plentiful in the Owens Valley; a time before much of the water was diverted to quench the thirst of Los Angeles.

Hi Evelynn,
the ambiance in this image is great. I assume this is late evening light? I brings me directly to the location. Just an evening stroll while the sun sets before going home....
Anyway, I like it a lot.
Regards, Jacob

Hello Evelynn,
A fine atmosphere is captured in this well composed image!
Attractive colours and a fine documentary of what happens when man interfer with nature...
Well exposed in low light!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Evelynn,
Beautiful image. I love the bare trees silhouetted against the lovely blue tones of the sky and ground. Just a shame they have died due to lack of water. Lovely composition and details and wonderful lighting. TFS
Cheers Tina :-)

Hi Evelynn,

whilst a beautiful and very well executed shot, somehow those trees seem to be a bit sinister to me for some reason! I think the low POV adds to this and the lighting too. Tree - mendous image (sorry :o)

tfs,

Hi Evelyn

Another lovely and atmospheric shot of the Bishop area. Nice, strong composition and colours.

James

Hi Evelynn, this location has certainly given you some great shots and this one is particularly atmospheric.. I like how you have retained detail in the shaded areas and caught the last rays of light on the summit. Very good work.

Hi Evelynn,

Your landscapes are really so nice. I love the night shot and the composition is very good. Well done!

Now how can I resist a post with that title?
Even at night, Bishop's light is magic.
What a great composition, with the dark tree silhouettes in the foreground, with their lacy twigs, and that faint but distinct light on the mountains and sky!
There is so much depth in that image.
I can see myself walking toward those mountains under the moonlight. : )
TFS. : )

Hi Evelynn,
I have missed this one. The mood is excellent! Colors and composition is very good. The moon adds so much to this beautiful scenery. Very well done on the exposure handling too. TFS
Selen

Hi Evelynn,
And all colors is gone. What a difference between the day and night. However I still see some sun casted on the tip of the mountains. The tall dead trees and your low POV do make for a spooky photo. I am still seeing some stange color artifacts in the shadow areas. Did you adjust these areas?
TFS,
Niek

I really like how you've captured this! It shows how the moon lights up the lanscape at night with its lovely blue glow!
TFS
