[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was on my way to the bank and saw this Great Blue Heron fishing in a local lake. I slammed the car into reverse, grabbed my camera and crouched behind a bush.

After a short time the heron came up on the shore and stood for a few shots before flying off to a more secluded spot.

hi jim & a warm welcome to TN! :-) wonderful heron shot for a start!
it seems you were kind of lucky on this one.
great pose, good sharpness and nice colors, one thing for the composition:
maybe less space on the left and more on the right to where he´s looking.
well seen & captured, thorsten.

Hola, Beautiful shot. Great close-up. The detail, the color, POV, DOF are all fantastic. Great technical notes. TFS
Jim

Hello Jim, what a beauty fantastic photo, you managed to capture this Heron perfectly. the collors and composition are amazing, great POV and sharpness, wonderful BG..well done and welcome..

Great shot. Nice POV and DOF.
I could swear that is a grey heron - they are so similar !

Nice shot Jim, catching him in the shade was a stroke of luck or skill, none of the white feathres are even a bit over exposed, and the details are great.

Greg
