Hi Evelyn
A lovely shot of the cracked mud and bushes - very interesting composition. I agree with you about Death Valley - apart from Dante's view and the dunes I am not a great fan - although I have been 3 times.

Hi Evelynn,
So evocative image...
I really like it, it has a lot of visual impact.
I'm trying to figure it out why the lack of info...besides Niek, all of us less seasoned on this would thank so much the info to better understand how things can be done. ;-)
I think you managed pretty well the cloudy sky to take advantage of it and the wide angular glass.
Congratulations and thanks for share it.
My best regards,
JM

Hej Evelynn
Theres a fine mild colorscale here( a lot of desertpicture are oversaturated and doesn't gives that melancolic feeling that this type of landscape have) Im not real sure about the frame? if it drags out the color from the image or the other way around.
Anyway I like the picture and it's desolated expression.

Hello Evelynn,
This photograph is breathtaking in its beauty and composition! The pov is great, the dried mud appears much more interesting than it should, and the sky and background hills just complete the image. I am going to make this my first favourite!
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Evelynn,
this is a beautiful landscape picture, really 3-dimensional. One can feel the landscape, it appears that one stands amidst. Excellent light and composition.
Best wishes, Peter

Hi Evelynn,
Great picture and very nice perspective of the mountains.
Good framing, beautiful presentation, good work..!
Regards,
Patrick
Evelynn, James, come on :)! Badwater, Zabriskie Point, Devil's Golf Course, Artist's Palette, Salt Creek, Scotty's Castle, Racetrack, all those canyons, mines, alluvial fans ... It's a tough place to be but it's a lot more than Dante's View and the dunes.
Evelynn, this is a great photo, one I wish I had taken. So different than the usual stuff, and much of it is owed to the exposure. Those clouds and the haze give a surreal impression. Good job!

Hello Evelynn,
Nice capture of this dry partched ground with sage and mountains as the backdrop. I surely does look barren and lonesome, thanks for sharing Evelynn.

Another scene with a LOT of depth, Evelynn.
I like it a lot. The designs made by the cracks are so fascinating.
I like that "hill" in the middle. It really draws me into the picture.
Another fantastic composition.

Hi Evelynn,
I must tell you today that I'm jealous of your eye. I just simply can't see a landscape, and you take such beautiful ones. This composition is super! Congrats.

Hi Evelynn and very sorry for the delay
This is another very beautiful and powerful composition from you!
I really like the POV that you used here. You really got that FG attention and elements that you looked for :)
The positioning of every element here is really amazing and create an amazing scene.
The dry soil and all the cracks add a lot of drama to the shot, too!
Simply outstanding work!
Bravo and TFS

Hi Evelynn,
this brings back memeories.. been a wile since I been to the death valley.
Great shot, love the details and textures in this shot. Very nice low POV which add additional depth.
Great landscape composition.
Sky
Nicely done. I've shot some of these dry waterbeds, but I've always found them to be a bit boring and unbalanced. The inclusion of the bushes (ocotillo?) and their surrounding "islands" really works. Well done.
Mike
P.S. I agree with the few photo ops, but what about Scotty's castle -- not naatural enough?

Hi Evelynn. This looks a bit like much of Australia at present unfortunately! Good low POV ensures the full effect of the mudflat areas. Very good clarity and colour throughout. Good work. Murray.

Hi Evelynn,
What the aperture may have been, I think it actually worked perfect on this one. The main subject is the dried mud. The composition with the first bushed nicely placed is excellent. I think this would look even better in B/W because there are only a few dark colors.
TFS,
Niek

a classic shot of a dry and parched land..
Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment.
And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.
And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken.
even that border makes me dry..:)
glad to see you again evelynn
cheers
