[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
On this first day of Spring I thought I would upload this 2 year old image I took from my then brand new 10D and 100mm f/2.8 macro lens. I was brand new to photography but jumped right in. I don't know what kind of bee this is , but it was too small to be a Bumble Bee. It was a sunny and one of the first truly warm days that year , so I took a bouquet of Spring flowers outside in the sun to photograph with my new gear. In an otherwise flowerless yard ( too early in the season) along came this marvelous little bee who appeared very excited to have found such a treasure trove of pollen and nectar. This little guy had hit the bee lottery!

This was so long ago and I wasn't using Photoshop yet ...I think I was using Paintshop Pro and that edition didn't keep the Exif data, so I am sorry I can not give you all the techs on this image. It is really just posted to celebrate and say " Happy Spring" to those of us in the northern hemisphere!

Great capture, very good contrast between the subject to the whole frame, it seems that there is a little lack of sharpness here.

Great macro Lesley, very simple composition with just two colours, but it really works.
Can even see the pollen, good note also.

Beautiful photo Lesley. Very good detail and contrasts. As for spring, well it is snowing as I write this, once again. Alas, we will have to live spring through all of TNs eyes. Congratulations on a lovely "old" capture and thank you.

Very good composition, I miss here the clearness from the eyes of the insect, I think when you have had light enough for showing his eyes good, it was a fantastic photo, One for the prices, Now It is just good. gr. Jaap

Never mind the species - the bee looks gorgeous Lesley. Great sharpness/dof together with the yelleow background really sets the bee off. Pose and composition is perfect - really an excellent shot.
