One of the giant claims that inhabit the waters around Saipan in Micronesia. This one was still a juvenile and was only about a foot wide.
The shot was taken in about 40 feet of water with no flash. The natural blue of the clam was enhanced a bit by the color change caused by the depth. The only alterations to the picture were cropping and sharpening. |

The iridescent blue in this is absolutely stunning David.Hard to believe its not coloured up at all.(I do believe you,though)
Do you know if this is luminescent? Some marine organisms like this glow in the dark.This looks as though it could be one of them.

This is a nice combination of colours and transparencies.
The subject would be perfect for getting ideas for jewellery design, is really lovely and delicate. This incredible palette of blues can only be obtained underwater.
I wish you had posted 100 pix. larger to get best details on this one. Very good work, thanks for sharing.
