[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Here is a shot of a blue morpho butterfly freshly "hatched" from its chrysalis. Other chrysalii (chrysalises?) are visible in the background. This photo was taken at Butterfly World in South Florida, where they breed and raise numerous types of butterflies. Magnificent patterns on their wings!

As I understand it, the new butterflies pump the wings full of blood, then a chemical is released which hardens the blood, causing the wings to remain stiff. If this is not correct, I hope a reader will correct me.
