i finally found out, i think, where the phrase "old coot" came from. this coot jumped in the water and immediately began intimidating geese, which must be 5-9 times bigger than the coot and ducks which are larger than the coot. they it went over to it's family.

Sharp and detailed.
The only thing I don't like about the birds is the red eye...creepy ;)

He is obvious...although he seem to be a little low in the forward aft....taking on a bit over middle age...maybe a middle age crisis...Nice crisp focus on le' feathers. Also nice story/notes.

Hi Tom,
the exposure is good, all the details in the black parts are well seen maybe the top of the beak is slightly OE but not easy with a B/W bird. The red eye is amaziing in it's colours.
Fine POV but a bit tight in front of the bird.
