Hi Donna,
I believe the plant is some type of Water Hyacinth. Water hyacinth is native to South America but has naturalized much of the Southern U.S.

Very pretty, but they can take over a pond. Nice vibrant color saturation with good detail. You managed the bright sunlight well in this exposure.

Don't tell me that ship of your husbands was in the Atlantic?! Myrtle Beach is very beautiful as you have shown with colors and fauna here. A nice violet touch. The place changes in lifestyle in th spring when kids are out for break.

Nice composition here, Donna. I like the diagonals and the almost abstract look of it. The reflection on the left darkens it in a way that frames the image. Well done!
