[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
It's not always easy to convince a dragonfly to pose for a picture, but when they do agree, sometimes it's surprising how close they will let you get to them. This one could have almost pressed the shutter button himself. I wonder if they're not seeing themselves reflected in the lens.

This was taken with the 28-135mm lens. I really cropped this to show how close it will get.

Hi Reid,
Nice close-up of a male Common Whitetail dragonfly...They ARE an interesting subject that can drive you crazy trying to identify...Minute differences in species along with sometimes radical differences in sexes can be quite frustrating...Well captured...

Ahh..I try not to read what others say, but you did well for your lens in this case... and for whatever reasons not needed you blew up and cropped to get the job finished. Very well then!

Alot of detail with good color, exposure, and POV.
A bit of grain with the crop, not bad though..I prefer the WS image mf.

A good macro. It is a very tight crop of the dragonfly, a little more space would be good and your image would appear that bit sharper. However you got some really nice details on the wings. Good photo,
