I've driven by and flown over, but have never been this close to the lake. Very informative note. This is where the land speed records have been set isn't it?

Very nice composition. I like the details of the cracks and DOV. Would have liked a little more constrast and a black frame around it.

Hi David
This looks like the start of a nice, new mini series on this lake with its walking rocks, if I remeber correctly? I will we watching this space. I really appreciate sharing about nature - I think the quality of the photograph is often the only real criteria looked at, and to me, the note carries as much, if not more, punch than the pic. Well done on this stark landscape - You know I love deserts. Aslo the one with the double s.

Its a nice POV to give one an idea of how large this is. The island adds a nice anchor and depth perspective. Very nicley done.

I have floated around in it. If you have health problems, I think the salt can help many things....... it is so strong! Interesting shot!

It's amazing to see these salt flats. I've only seen them on TV, although I did see salt mining in Cyprus back in the 70's once. I like the way you have included so much in the foreground. Nicely done David.

A very nice note, to describe what we are seeing, just incredible nature. I was impressed this was formed "one morning" as you said. Hope to see a panoramic soon! Thanks.

David.
I think this photo demonstrates well the rule of thirds in photographic composition. The distant island and even more distant mountain are well placed in the blue atmosphere. And although the most dramatic feature, the cracked crust occupies certainly more than a third of the space, that increased share dramatically exposes the stark beauty of the place. For me this photo brings to the viewer the feel of the place, not just a picture of the place.
Good job.
Deeb.

For something so barren you've made an excellent shot out of it. I like the placement of hte island in the BG, gives a good idea of depth and perspective. I love the cracks and fissures in the mud.
Great shot David.

A good shot, one we don't see much here on TN. I would like to have seen it bigger to bring out more detail.

Hi, David.
Excellent landscape. Well taken and composed. Interesting foreground texture showing the dryness of the place and mountain background adding depth.

It's really dry out there, the hills in the background seems like an island surrounding by water, is it a real water or just a fatamorgana :), the mudcrack make the picture so artistic and unique. It is so pleasant picture make me fell I'm there,... think I need to drink a glass of water now !
