[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Here is another Scrub Jay. I see lots of them around here, but they're not always easy to photograph. This one was letting me walk all around him taking pictures for several minutes before getting tired of it and flying off. This was in the gardens in front of the Reagan Presidential Library again. I have a few more pics to post from my trip there yesterday. I saw a much greater variety of birds there. It was nice considering I always see the same 3 types in my back yard at home.

Hello Penny
A great picture, The Blue Hue is perfectly contrasted to the white of his chest and the blacks on his head and beak, The sharpness to me is perfect. A lovely pose as if to say this is my best side!!

This is an incredible picture. The contrast is great and the colors are really vibrant. I like how you put him a little off center in the photo. He must have begun to accept you as a part of his environment to sit so still for that exposure time. The sharpness in the foreground and the haze in the background make it look like you could have done it with a macro lens ;-). This is really a great shot! The only critique I would give is maybe try cropping in a little from the left to get rid of that kind of triangular shaped branch...it can be a little distracting and it's not needed.

Hello Penny,
Great capture of a Scrub Jay, nice and sharp, the white 'necklace' and the blue coloring showing well. Fine composition, pose and natural BG making it a first class shot.

This might just another Schrub Jay for you but to me it is pretty and very appealing. A lovely close-up. It looks as if this bird is wearing a bib. The white feathers on its chest looks very soft and fluffy and I also like the special shade of blue of the rest of the plumage. It is a very dainty bird. I like the way you framed the photo, and blurred the green leaves in the background. Thanks for sharing and enjoy your day.
