[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
We usually see these great spiders in the center of their webs, but I caught this one making some repairs.

It was surprising how quick and agile she is. She's maintaining contact with two strands of web on the left, keeping one tight on the right, and holding onto the plant as well. Two legs are left dangling in a sort of Demi-Plié. And centered between two convenient spotlights. Thus the ballerina. One used to battles though, she only has seven legs left.

I left this a little soft.

Hope you enjoy,
Reid

Hello Reid,
Its obvious you know your ballet steps ... and your photography.
This is a great shot, nicely composed with some good detail.
Possibly a little bright in places, but the spider is well exposed.
Nice work,

Perhaps a bit soft, but adequate enough for using in identification. Nice background to pull it out. Perch is well defined giving a feel of the size. Very nice.

Hello Reid,
I real beauty, soft or not! Excellent capture of this spider of an unknown species to me. great colors and contrast with the natural neutral BG. The central composition works well here and is enhanced by curvature of the plant that the web is constructed on.
Hope someone can put a name on this on this gorgeous spider: the shot desrves itI
TFS and have a nice weekend!

Fine capture of the spider. Well done. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Mr. Reid,
A beautiful capture of this spider. Nicely composed and good details with a very good POV. The exposure is also nice and even (as it is a big problem for me when shooting these type of spiders). Thanks a lot for sharing.

Sincerely
HP

Love this! You've captured another moment in the life of these amazing creatures! I think we should put our stuff together in a theme for a photo documentary of the everyday life of the black-and-yellow argiope.

bonjour reid
je pense que vous auriez pu accentuer un peu l'araignée pour la rendre plus nette.en revanche bonnes couleurs et POV.

Hi Reid,
Spiders are great characters and present such outrageous poses with their long legs. The image is sharp and colourful and against the darkish BG it stands out well. The lighting is superb here. Excellent POV to portray it and very nicely composed. Kudos.

Hello Reid,
Not a pretty creature in my opinion but very well captured here!
Good details are well frozen in the action, lovely colours and a fine feeling of depth...
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Reid

I like this shot. Composition with a plant and visible spider web here is very nice. I like the OOF homogenous buckground.

Interesting effect with OOF and sharp light and dark green mosaic of leafs and buckground.

Sharpness is good but maybe you could do a little unsharp mask on abdomen. You use apropriate DOF, all legs are sharp.

I also like the title
Best wishes
Krzysztof
