Dear Jim
Your story had me laughing out loud -- startled my poor dog!
Lordy, lordy -- Bob Shannon is going to get you for this! You know he is!
Outstanding details and composition -- and the flash is nicely handled
Priceless (no Mastercard required)

Hello Jim,
a 'dramatic' approach! Light, colours and the bizarre structures of the spider produce a particular atmosphere. Besides that, a well-composed and sharp picture.
Best wishes, Peter
Dramatic approach is quite right. Your novel writing ability has decided to come back from old college thesis days and haunt me eh? On the last day in the wilds, actually the night prior, I had killed a black widow which had been sleeping 15 feet from the head of my bed. I still "shutter" at the memory.
For a spider, it is a very unique and rather haunting angle and pose. Somehow he/she doesn't look very happy...or is that my reading words into your picture...my phobias are drawn near.
I have rewarded you through dedication sir!
Bob

Hello Jim,
I must confess that I hate spiders, or better I feel repulsion for them, but this shot is so well done, with the neatness of the cobweb and your funny note...
Wishes,
Violetta

Hi Jim,
Wonderful shot with immaculate sharpness of its hairy body. Good use of flash lighting and neat focus. I like the angle and the composition very much. Very funny note, Bob must have scratched his head a bit here. Kudos.
TFS.

Hi Jim.
Wow, so sharp and detailed, sort of got the shivers for a min and could just imagine what one would be thinking if they were watching you at 4am in the morning. Well done, great exposure for pitch black conditions and great composition.
Wonderful, one for the "Our World At Night" theme.

Hi Jim,
You've done an excellent job in this low-light, great flashwork without over-cooking em' :)
Really like the composition as the web trails through the frame diagonally
Great POV, DOF, color, BG, and sharp details.. It looks like our Tropical Orb Weaver (Eriophora ravilla), it only comes out at night to spin it's web.
Very well done.
Howard
