You are the lover of the unusual and small ones. Cicadas are so intriguing..I do remember them well. Wonderful closeup Reid. I wonder as to their usefulness in nature. Certainly all things have some purpose...just that we have not yet figured it out.

Hi Reid,
Splendid close-up shot with sharp details and nice colours. The falsh light was a bit harsh but still it looks majestic up there. I think it would have looked even better with a little more space around it - you have come too close. Excellent POV and I like those huge eye balls. Very nicely composed. Kudos.

I did a WS to try & bring the exposure down a bit.

Hello Reid,
Though parts of this cicada image are overexposed by the flash, it is sharp and detailed, taken from an excellent POV and well composed.
I really have no right to judge the quality of the flash as I never use it myself and am therefore a complete novice in its use.

Hi Mr. Reid,
A beautiful capture of this beautiful cicada. Yes their noise is very loud. Here in our villages when cicadas sing. Our farmers believe that it is time to go to the rice fields for plouging. Very nice details and composition. Thanks a lot for sharing.
