[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
It is officially fall the last two days, so I say a tribute to summers end with this wild sunflower.

Ah, sunflower, weary of time,
Who count'est the steps of the sun;
Seeking after that sweet golden clime
Where the traveler's journey is done;

It is among the healing plants. If it is wild, as this one is, then the more potent the curing capability. This is one I have not used personally, but have watched it's good affects on people who have asthma. And naturally it is used then for bronchitis as well. I tend to drink ephedra tea when I have a chest cold. That comes from an unrelated plant called Ephedra Sinica, which I buy locally... although it does come in synthesized form, it is now regulated by the name Sudafed. Unfortunately Sudafed is an ingredient for methamphetamines.

In the rear of the wild sunflower are some bachelors buttons which are prolific and grow all over the hills and in cities as well....I will miss these flowers, but shall now exchange parts of my daily life with drives to the farming communities to see the heritage apples and squash of all kind. Perhaps I will go back and grab a picture of the off color bachelor buttons soon. My world is filled with natural things which I love....

Dear Bob!
This is the most welcomed picture for me today! In Lodz there is almost grey everywhere, it is raining and the clouds are on the sky. Terrible! ;> And your photo brings a lot of sun! And I really wanted something like that!

Hi Bob,

It may be fall in Washington but it is still summer in Arizona. I am envious. Lovely sunflower which has seen better days and is a wonderful symbol of the changing seasons. I love the background and frame.

Hi Bob.

Beautiful colours perfectly captured. We didn't have much of summer here in the UK - two weeks of clear blue skies in total. Your flower reminds me of the summer we missed this year, so thank you for that. But looking forward to the Autumn, with its cool, fresh sunshine and clean light. Great for us photographers.
