| When hatched, alligators are 10-12 inches in length, a miniature version of the adult. These captive gators will only grow about 2 feet per year, to a length of 9-12 feet, and 200 pounds (or more!). In the wild, growth rates are a little faster, and full length potentials more easily achieved. Males grow larger than females. |
