Another bleak landscape shot from the Mammoth Hot Springs of Yellowstone National Park. There was a shower that was clearing and I was looking to capture some of the steam rising from the hot springs in the background.

Hi Mike,
very strange place... Never saw something like that before. The mix of cold colours are great, also the combination of little light at the background and "hot" colours at first. It seems Dante´s inferno, but I imagine that there are some life there, and that is the amazing thing, like those trees trying to survive...
well done!! this pic is outstanding: good POV, composition, colours, light.
TFS!!!
kind regards
Brenda

Quelle superbe photo! Notre monde dévasté ou notre Terre à sa création? Tout est magnifique : composition, lumière, couleyrs et paysage bien sûr....

Hello Mike,
A great scenery where the drama of nature is so well captured!
The strong contrasts enhances the atmosphere, and of course the scene has more credibility with clouds like this...
Attractive composition with great colours!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Mike,

Great atmospheric shot of an amazing place - odd to think it's one huge supervolcano under there...

I love the composition - nice balanced placement of the trees. TFS, Doug

Hi Mike,
I think Scott nailed it with adjectives like spooky, surreal, and dramatic. Looks like a world between two worlds :)
Excellent impact & imagery.

Hi Mike,

A good POV of the Mammoth hot springs, the photo has a good composition, DOF and nice colors. Thanks for sharing.

Pierre

The dark sky adds a lot to this already strange landscape. It is a powerful image. ... nice sharpness and exposure. Have you thought of cropping it to a square... cropping from the left side. I like that version too.

Hello Mike,
What a fantastic scenery. Perfect DOF and great colours, POV, composition and light.

Hi Mike,
Love the mood in this photo. The strong contrast between the white travertine and the dark trees and mountians create a very ominous feeling to the photo. I like the position of both the trees eventhough some might find them to be too much in the center.
TFS,
Niek

What a very intriguing and beautiful looking place well spooky in a way but wow! Great picture amazing pov. So gotta visit there. TFS
