I have not posted in forever. I have enjoyed peeking a little more often and critiquing. This is a shot from my summer trip to Oregon for my oldest daughter's college graduation. I took lots of pictures, but didn't take the time to explore and take nature shots like I'd have liked too. Drove right by Yellowstone without stopping. Shame on me. Maybe someday there will be the luxury of time to explore like I'd like too.

Evelynn's "Autumn Contrasts" made me remember my Aspen shot. We spent a couple of nights at my cousin's and he took us to his brother's cabin in the Rockies where I took this one. How nice to be able to go back and sped a year simply taking pictures.

I'm having a lazy day coding a special project, and thought I'd take the time to share this one shot. I like the unidentified flowers in the foreground that match the trees. You can find more information on these beautiful trees at: Wikipedia~the free encyclopedia
Thank you all for taking a look!
And Howard, thanks for your workshops my friend. Your talent there is as wonderful and amazing as your photography. I think I'd stand in line for one of your seminars if you ever decided to do any...;-)

Hi Dave,
I'm glad you ventured out of your cave long enough to post this shot of a favorite tree species of mine. We just got back from Colorado and saw similar ones in their golden fall attire.

From what college did your daughter graduate? I live in Salem, Oregon. I spend a lot of time at Willamette University here in town.

It is probably just as well that you didn't stop at Yellowstone. From Memorial Day till Labor Day one can hardly get in there with a shoehorn! It can be a bit distressing.

I took the liberty of brightening up your aspen trees a little. There is little more cheerful in the western woods than the white barked aspen.. so I made them a little more white barked and cheerful. : )

TFS and welcome back,

Evelynn : )

A beautiful scene! LOVELY!
I'm sure ti was low light but you handled it perfectly!

Aaaaaah !! It's been sooooo long since you've posted a picture ! Great composition on this one with very good technique. The exposure and sharpness is very good too. I wouldn't like to make a jigsaw puzzle of that image ! ;-) Great new shot Dave ! Thanks,

Mario

Hello David,
This is a nice scenery and I like this unusual composition; it is different. I think that the WS enhanced the picture by making it a little more contrasted and saturated. Those little flowers in foreground are very lovely indeed. This is nice to see a new post from you :) Thanks,
Claudine

Beautifully composed and worked image.
Well done sir...

I am partial to Aspen which is probably why I like this shot. I have tried this but have not been tenacious enough. There are Aspen here in abundance. I do have some pics but the girth is not as great in mine as yours.. Well done.

Darn it, I've over slept Dave,
Nice shot of this stand of aspens, I like the white flowers FG, and the rocky BG that rises up behind..I also liked your WS, more contrast was just what the doctor ordered ;}
Well done,
Howard

Hi Dave!
Welcome back! I've been hit or miss here myself as well, I love these trees, now I know they aren't white birch trees too..:o) Something about the white bark against the dark green , it just looks so beautiful. TFS
