A Wild White Rose from Roque Bluffs
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| Seen on the shore at Roque Bluffs State Park, this is one specimen of the many "beach roses" in both white and pink varieties so common along the rockbound coast of Maine. The leaves here are glistening with the damp air of the ocean. These flowers are separated from the waters only by a relatively modest swath of beach. The beach roses survive and thrive in a cooler, saltier habitat than the ones that most roses call home. |

Hi Jim!
Lovely picture: great lighting; excellent contrast of anthers on the white petals.
Thanks for the note, too.

Jim,
One of the nicer flower shots I have seen in awhile,
the white and green compliment each other so well,
Great capture,
TFS

Maine eh? It does look unusual..and yet all of nature is truly a wonder to behold. Simplicity again is the mainstay. Basics needed by most to go further...Well done..I'll bet your not looking forward to months of snow..
