[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was on a business trip to Washington last spring and decided to extend it by a few days to get a taste of some of the states natural beauty and in particular the Olympic National Park.

It was towards the end of my last day and I started to skirt the Peninsula from the north on my way back to Seattle. After hearing that Black Tailed deer can be found roaming freely in the Port Angeles area I decided to try my luck. Was I happy when I came across this beauty enjoying a munch on the grassy meadow. She seemed quite happy to be on her own but came quite alert upon hearing a dog bark....as seen here.

A beautiful end to a wonderful (if short) trip!

Hello David

A wonderful capture of this little black tailed deer.We don't have them around here.
The overall scene in the meadow is lovely and well composed.I really like the big pine tree in the back round.
The dandelions scattered through the grass is a nice accent.
Very well illuminated with rich colours.
Nicely done.

David,

The deer shows really well aginst the green, really makes this shot. Or I guess I don't see lush green scenes here. Front to back, like the color and comp.

Hi David, very nice shot of this doe in her natural setting. You've picked up good detail with the grasses around her, including those dandelions. The Spruce behind makes a great backdrop. What really makes this shot though is your timing to catch her looking over her shoulder for that dog. Very nicely done.

Thanks, John
