[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a very unusual animal, take a good look at it, it appears to be a mix of different animals. This one I photographed at Disney's Animal Kingdom, I had poor light, so I tried to light up a bit.

The okapi (Okapia johnstoni) is a mammal of the Ituri Rainforest in central Africa. Although it bears striped markings reminiscent of the zebra, it is most closely related to the giraffe. Native just to the Ituri forests situated in the north east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, it was known only to the local people until 1901.

Hi Everton,

What a fascinating looking animal. It looks like someone created it taking parts from other animals. Wonderful natural colors and good details from head to toe. Strange looking face too.

Jane

Hello Everton,
Okapi is a member of the family Giraffidae. but it is not known as much as giraffa. Many people will know it much by this shot and informative note. TFS

Hello Everton

Looks like someone is tinkering with zebra DNA.
What an unusual looking animal.
Well seen despite the poor lighting conditions.
The details show well with very good colouration.
