Hi Bob,
Isn't this pretty with the lovely lavender flowers in the dark green field. So much prettier than cactus, cactus and more cactus. A beautiful scene.

Hello Bob,
Yes it is refreshing to see a nice summery shot, the thistles and the vetch looking good against the lush green of the thistle leaves. I like your POV and composition very much, it give one the feeling that one must look beyond to discover more...
Nice Scottish quote that I can understand, but Robbie Burns is another matter!

Hello Bob,
And some flowers never do any harm, be it in the middle of the winter they are even more apreciated!
In particular those that grow where they found a spot they like...
Bringing seeds to America, maybe some relatives of mine did that too, but what came to my mind are the lupins that came the other way!
They were brought here for garden use but today they are all over the place... except in gardens!
Happy waiting for spring...
Greetings,

Hi Bob,
you shot here reminded me just how much i miss Spring! We don't get any of the snow and ice that makes winter so beautiful and enjoyable here anymore, so Spring is always a welcome arrival.
Really like the lush green with splatter of colour (almost 'Pollockesque')...very nice.

Hi Bob,
This is a very nice scenery with superb colors; something that contrats a lot with the actual weather here. Your note are very interesting and remind me of this movie that was on TV yesterday, "Return to cold mountain". God, life was hard at this time... Thanks,
Claudine

Hi Bob!
Ahhh spring, yes for most a wonderful time of year!! I love how the bright purple thistle pops out of the contrasting green grasses. If I could only smell spring in the air now!!

Hi Bob,
Here's to spring in Scotland, and anywhere else to that matter! I'm really looking forward to Spring, so thank you for the reminder of whhat we have to look forward too, yet I fear winter will be a late visitor to London. I love your particular style - I can spot one of your pictures a mile away, be it B&W or colour. And this is a very nice one - simple, to the point, but nonetheless beautiful.

Hi Bob,
My wifes' favorite subject the thistle, she love taking images both when in flower and going to seed. She also landed in some when we went sky diving a ways back.
Great image and notes, as always my friend, thanks.

Hi Bob,
Something different on a cold winter day, a nice capture of the thistle flowers surrounded by green vegetation. The point of view allows us to see the details and colors of the subject. It is also well framed. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Bob, I read this note like I sing a song, your ode to spring elevates in the air and made me think about the flowers in our garden, the colours, the richness of the soil and yes, oh, the seeds! Your notes bring a whole dimension to simple things like seeds. They mean so much to people who sow in winter for the spring to come. Thanks for this kind joy to read and beautiful photo of marvellous thistles that I love all through the year. Bye bye!

Wonderful shot and you have created a piece of art out of this lush green field. The thistles seems like small sparkles and presents a superb perspective. Excellent POV and composition. Kudos.

Last Saturday I was in a hurry to take pictures of something else but several times drove past a withered field of sunflowers that I had photographed during Spring in all their full glory.
I wanted to photograph how they looked now but time and lighting did not allow for it when I went past each time. Your picture reminds me of what I missed, but in an entirely different season.

A beautiful capture of this thistle. The lighting is very well done, with lovely colours.
The green backdrop sets off the flowers nicely.
