[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This creature was fund near the trail in Calaveras Big Trees State Park. Anybody have any idea what is it?

UPDATE:
Just fund the ID of this beauty. It is a red snow plant, so named because it is the first plant to appear as the winter snows begins to melt. Snow plants lack the chlorophyll that causes most plants to be green and do not photosynthesize, insted resembling a thick stalk of red asparagus. Through recent research botanists have discovered that snow plants attach themselves to the roots of conifers. It is protected plant.

I have no idea what it is, it is very nice though. The detail and focus are very good here, my only critisism would be to clear away some of the twigs and such around the subject, apart from that it's a nice shot. If you find out what it is please update the note.

Welcome to TN Jerzy.

Nice opening shot Jerzy!
The subject looks great. I've never seen this species before.
You've captured it very well with good POV and details.
Well done and welcome to TN :-)

Excellent finding Jerzy. It is a little beauty! Nice colours, the surrounding is a bit busy, distract, but overall, it is good! By the way, welcome to TN, hope you have fun around here. :)

EN ARGENTINA TENEMOS UNA PLANTA SIMILAR SOBRE RAICES DE ARBOLES DE LA PROVINCIA DE LA PAMPA, ES DE APARIENCIA MUY EXTAÑA Y LA BUSCAN LOS JABALIES HOZANDO LA TIERRA, CREO QUE ES DE LA FAMILIA HIDNORACEAE.
SALUDOS

Gorgeous shot. Have never seen a Red Snow Plant in the wild. Excellent composition with the greens in the background. . .springtime shot. . .it's confusing me! *LOL* (Just kidding).
