[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This photo was taken at the channel island (Anacapa) It is taken in about 75fsw. Water temp was about 56F. Used a wide angle lens. This is a Red Gargonia (Lophogorgia chilensis) They get to about 36" (90cm) they rance from Monterey bay to Isla Cedros, Bajha California. And live at depths from 50-200ft (15 to 60m). The Gargonia that is a darker red on the left side of the Cnidarian is dieing and does not have many polops left. the right side of the plant is healthy and looks like what it should look like. there is also a sea cucumber and either some sort of anemone or cup coral not really sure

Critiques [Translate]

A beautiful gorgonarian captured perfectly in its natural colors Erika, and that orange sea cucumber finely adorns the composition. Too bad the left part of the cnidarian (not a plant, surely) consists mostly of dead skeleton, let's hope the living part will survive.
